Behind the Name
Founded in 2013, Mauch Chunk Coffee Co. is a family-owned roastery nestled in the foothills of Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains. Inspired by the rich history of our community, formerly known as Mauch Chunk—which means "Bear Mountain" in the Lenape language—we carry forward a legacy of authenticity and respect for the land.
Mauch Chunk, now known as Jim Thorpe, is a small, picturesque town nestled in the Lehigh Valley, within the scenic Pocono Mountains (Poconos) of Pennsylvania. Today, it is known for its well-preserved Victorian architecture, outdoor adventure activities, and rich history.
